WHY IS DRYWALL NATION CHARGING FOR SUBSCRIPTION SERVICES?

Drywall Nation also generates revenue from suppliers and manufacturers who pay a fee to advertise.

HOW DO MEMBERS GET ON THE LIST?

Most Members sign up directly.

Subscriptions are geared to contractors, suppliers or manufacturers.

Sometimes a member will recommend another business to sign up. They are added when a contractor submits feedback about the quality of their work. At that time, we set up a profile for the business to accompany the review. If a contractor you’ve used isn’t a member yet, add them by submitting a review so other members can find out about their work!

A Supplier or Manufacturer can also set up a profile so that their contact information will appear on the List. These members will not receive reviews nor will they be permitted to review other members.

All members can use their accounts to check their reviews and maintain their reputation in the Drywall Nation community. If you are a business owner and you want to appear as a member, learn more here!

LICENSES, BONDS, AND INSURANCE

IF YOU ARE HIRING A CONTRACTOR IT IS UP TO YOU TO MAKE SURE THAT ALL THE DOCUMENTATION IS IN PLACE.

We encourage all members to be Licensed, Registered and Bonded. Every member should have insurance it speaks volumes about their attention to detail and professionalism. Before subcontracting a member, ask to see a Certificate of Insurance and call to make sure the policy is current and has enough coverage for your project. The two most common types of insurance are liability insurance and worker’s compensations. Liability insurance covers property damage and injuries caused by the contractor’s work. It won’t normally pay for repairing or replacing bad work; that’s the purpose of a bond. Workers’ compensation provides payments to injured workers (regardless of who was at fault in the accident) for lost wages and medical services. It also provides benefits to the contractor’s family in the event of death. In most cases, if the owner is the only employee, workers’ comp is not required.

But we do not have the infrastructure in place yet to ensure member credentials but we have put together a brief summary about choosing licensed, bonded and insured contractors.

Licensing indicates that the contractor has been granted a trade license as mandated by state and local laws. Generally, members must pass competency tests for business practices and trade skills, pay a fee, and prove insurance and/or bonding.

Registering usually requires contractors to prove insurance and pay a fee, but only sometimes requires bonding and rarely tests competency. Registering is typically less stringent than licensing; however, in a few areas of the country, licensing and registering is used interchangeably.

Bonds are arrangements between the contractor and a third-party, private bond issuer or a recovery fund held by the licensing municipality. Homeowners may petition for reimbursement through the third party if contractors harm them financially because of shoddy work or failure to pay subcontractors as promised.

HOW DO MEMBERS RECEIVE RATINGS?

Members are graded when a member or other consumer submits feedback. The rating system we use is on a “1” through “5” scale, “5” being the best. This is to grade the quality of the consumer’s experience with a provider.

Members can’t change their rating and they aren’t allowed to grade themselves. Only other Drywall Nation members, through their reviews, have the power to change a company’s overall grade.

MUD BOX

When a member doesn’t substantively respond to a member’s complaint or failed to follow through on a promise to a member, this member is thrown into the “MUD BOX”. It is our way of alerting other members about a provider who is making a complaint. This member’s profile will still appear until a full investigation is completed. They will only appear in the MUD BOX if:

1. They didn’t respond to our Complaint Investigation Resolution Process.

2. They agreed to resolve an issue with a member, but then failed to follow through.

While a provider is in the MUD Box, a notice is placed on its profile and it is excluded from category and keyword searches, but can be accessed using a provider-specific name search. A provider can be taken out of the MUD Box and restored when resolution has been reached.

AUTOMATIC RENEWALS

For your convenience, Drywall Nation memberships automatically renew at the end of their term. Your renewal fee may differ from another member’s fee. At the end of your term, your subscriptions will continually renew based on your subscription plan. Your STRIPE account or credit card on file will be billed on the last day of your membership. Please note that if a payment fails to process, additional attempts will be made.
